His Eye Is On You

Do you ever need assurance that you are not alone?

That someone knows you and loves you — and cares about all the details of your life?

The Lord promises in Psalm 37:23 that He directs the steps of the godly and delights in the details of their lives (NLT). I love that promise and I think of it often.

What we need to remember in the lonely times of life, when we feel like no one understands, is that the Lord is with us.

In one of David’s great psalms, we have a wonderful promise from the Lord.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.
Psalm 32:8, a Psalm of David

When God says “I will counsel you with My eye upon you,” He is promising that His eye is on you. Let those words sink deeply into your heart and mind today. Take that promise with you wherever you go.

His eye is on you. Do you know what that means? You are never alone. Your Lord is always with you. And the fact that His eye is on you implies loving care and concern. God loves you at all times and His love is an unfailing love.

God promises in Isaiah 54:10 (NIV), “‘Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,’ says the LORD who has compassion on you.”

I was on my way home from a long day of ministry and I stopped to take some photos of my favorite tree at sunset and spend a few moments alone with my Lord. What do I love about this tree so much? I love the beauty of its branches seemingly reaching up to the sky. There is a solitary quality about this tree. I imagine it reaching up to the Lord to satisfy its deepest longings in every dry and desperate place of life.

This tree reminds me of my own need to always look to the Lord to fill my life and meet my needs.

I love these promises from Peter:

His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
2 Peter 1:3-4

So dear friend, today remember the Lord’s eye is on you. Draw near to Him and drink of His unfailing love and divine power that gives you everything you need for life.

♥ Blessings and Grace to You!
