Faith That Walks On Water

Are you in a storm right now where the wind is blowing hard?

Do you need to find a strong, immovable anchor in the midst of adverse waves in your life?

God gives you His Word. And behind that Word is His oath, the unchangeableness of His purpose, and the fact that it is impossible for God to lie. Because of God and His Word, we can have hope, and it anchors our soul in the Lord (see Hebrews 6:15-20). The Bible also encourages us and gives us hope (Romans 15:4).

When you take God at His Word, and launch out in faith, instead of wallowing in unbelief through physical sight and sense, you will walk on water with your faith. This is such a great secret to growing into a faith walking person. It’s easy to say it, and even describe it, but real walk on water faith only happens when you get out of the boat in the midst of a storm where the wind is blowing hard.

I share this definition of faith in my new book of quiet times — Walk On Water Faith

Walk on water faith is the ability to see beyond temporal circumstances to the eternal realities of God and His promises, and as a result, take God at His Word and act on His promises in spite of conflicting circumstances, thoughts, and feelings.
Walk On Water Faith, Week One, Day 1, The Walk Of Faith

Where are you in the storm? Are you shaking in fear in the boat or boldly out on the water with your faith? If you are in the boat, then I invite you to open the pages of your Bible and discover what God has to say in the midst of the storm. Look beyond the waves and the wind to His eternal promises. You will find your fears subsiding and your faith growing, and even inviting you to step out in God’s power in spite of the adversity in your life.

Then, and only then, will you experience a faith that walks on water. John tells us that “whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith (1 John 5:4).

On a photoshoot with my wildlife photography mentor, Laurie Rubin, a Master with Trey Ratcliff’s Arcanum photography mentoring program, at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, I captured this beautiful duck walking and dancing, seemingly with blissful joy, on the water, in the midst of a victory dance. We can do the same as we ride the waves of the storm in the power of God’s Spirit, trusting in His Word.

Oh dear friend, may you walk and even dance on the water today with your faith.

♥ Blessings and Grace to You!
