He Is Risen, He Is Risen Indeed!

My mother and I have had a tradition on Easter that we have enjoyed for more years than I can even remember.

Every Easter whether we’re together or apart, we share the hope of the resurrection of Christ, and somewhere in the conversation one of us says with great drama and emphasis, “He is risen.” And then, we say together, “He is risen indeed.”

I love the remembrance of the many times we have said those words together.

He is risen indeed!

The “indeed” says it all. It punctuates the sentence and all of life with an exclamation point.

Bottom line is that Jesus rose from the dead and that means He is who He claimed to be — Immanuel — Yahweh — Savior — God. He died on the cross in our place, paid the penalty for our sins, made the atonement and propitiation – we may be forgiven and receive eternal life. Because He lives, we live. Real life. Abundant life. Eternal life.

Jesus speaks of this life and the great love of God —

For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent His Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him.
John 3:16-17 NLT

Oh friend, today is Easter. What many think of as resurrection day. Do you need new life? A resurrection? Then, receive Christ – ask Him to come into your life, forgive you of your sins, and give you eternal life. He will. He loves you so much that He died on the cross to pay the penalty for all your sins.

Pray a simple prayer: Lord Jesus I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for sins. I ask You now to come into my life, forgive my sins, and make me the person You want me to be. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If you pray that prayer, let me know about it. I would love to encourage you in your new life and relationship with the Lord. I can tell you it’s the best decision you will ever make and it influences the rest of your life.

Maybe you have received Christ, but you have become discouraged and downtrodden by the trials of life. Dear friend, take today to step away from everything and draw near to your Lord. Pour out your heart to Him. He loves you with an everlasting love. Open your Bible and wait for God to speak to your broken heart and crushed spirit. He specializes in ministering to a hurting heart. I pray for His mercy and grace in your life today — especially today.

Easter is not about candy, baskets, or eggs – it’s about Jesus. So, dear friend, I encourage you to experience the new life that will be like the sunrise of a new day.

God bless you this Easter. He is risen. He is risen indeed!

♥ Blessings and Grace to You!
