Looking Beyond

I am learning something very powerful and life-changing in my journey with the Lord as I walk with Him through a place where He has led me.

He is teaching me to look beyond temporal losses and adverse circumstances to the eternal outcome He has promised.

He has shown me that Paradise is a reality and we will all live there forever. That answers a lot of questions and settles a lot of difficulties in the temporal present.

I think of those words often that Jesus gave to the thief while they both shared the experience of a cross. Jesus’ cross paid the price and penalty of our sin. The thief was there because of his own sin. But Jesus paid it all. He told the thief when the thief asked for mercy, “Truly, I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise” (Luke 23:43).

We all have the hope of eternal life in Paradise if we know Jesus. Oh friend, it is a hope to hang on to every moment of your life here on earth. I realize it more and more, especially as both my mother and father have stepped into heaven in the last year and a half.

Paradise! What a promise!

We can all look beyond the here and now all the way to the eternal forever.

I love these words of Spurgeon —

Faith goes up the stairs that love has built and looks out the window which hope has opened.
Charles Haddon Spurgeon

Hope comes from God’s promises. And when you live in His promises your faith will grow and you will learn to walk up those stairs that the love of God gives you to “look beyond” out the window. And then you will stand strong in the midst of even the most difficult of times.

Dear friend, today I encourage you to look beyond and see this powerful promise of God. Hold it close to your heart. And experience the strength the Lord gives you to stand strong.

♥ Blessings and Grace to You!
