Sharing Your Photography

myPhotoWalk — Photo Tech Talk

Have you discovered the blessing and excitement of sharing your photography?

This is a question that gets at the heart of something I have discovered while taking photos over the course of many years. The need for a portfolio — and a venue to share it. I have had the joy of learning the art of photography with great mentors such as Bill Fortney, Laurie Rubin, Kathleen Reeder, and Kevin Brian Toohey. I have been growing in advanced post–processing techniques, carefully selecting the images of God’s creation that touch my heart and soul, and then giving others the opportunity to experience glimpses of His glory.

All along the way, I have produced favorite images from many photo shoots where I had the privilege to shoot with many different cameras (Nikon D7000, D800E, D810, and Sony A6000) and varied camera gear (lenses, filters, tripods and/or monopod, etc.) even under extremes of photo shoot conditions (it’s not always the golden hour). There’s a lot to think about!

So how do you effectively and artistically share your photography?

At first, I began sharing my devotional photography only on my A Walk In Grace Photo Journal at Quiet Time Ministries. This blossomed into an outreach project that we titled, myPhotoWalk, the photography of God’s great creation (Psalm 19:1 NKJV). Then, I got the idea to share a daily Bible verse along with a special photo on all social media, titled myPhotoWalk Photo Devotions. Then, we have started adding devotional photography images to my quiet time Bible studies such as Walk On Water Faith and Trusting In The Names of God. This has been a big success.

The hub of myPhotoWalk for me on social media is on myPhotoWalk — Google+ Community. myPhotoWalk is first and foremost about photography – for people of all faiths, no faith, or just searching – that they may rejoice in the goodness of God. Whether you are an avid photographer seeking technical motivation and encouragement – or a spiritual disciple yearning for life inspiration and worship of the God of all creation – you will feel right at home at myPhotoWalk — Google+ Community. Join us!

And recently, at myPhotoWalk — Google+ Community, I have been posting my learning curve thoughts about the art of photography – myPhotoWalk Photo Tech Talk – all along this wonderful journey of Devotional Photography. It’s been great fun!

But the best is yet to come!

We at Quiet Time Ministries Press have just completed the production of our first full color devotional photography book, myPhotoWalk — Quiet Time Moments, daily devotions and devotional photography everyday, to be released in multiple formats about February 1, 2016. The cover image, Paradise, was chosen from the myPhotoWalk San Francisco Gallery at our myPhotoWalk—Smugmug Portfolio. ♥ Blessings and Grace to You!
