2 Corinthians 4:16-18

So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 MSG
In the depth of a trial there is a darkness that obscures what is true. If one cannot get beyond it, fear begins to set in. The darkness creates the feeling that one’s life is “up in the air” and that there is no hope. Then comes panic and ultimately despair. What is necessary is to lift one’s sights to heaven. That’s what vision is all about. You must gain a new view. The one with real vision can see heaven from earth through the Word of God. Gaining an eternal perspective means you draw near and live in God’s Word, a door opens to heaven, and you see things as they really are. Rather than feeling as though life has a hold on you and things are falling apart, you see that God is on the throne. He holds you firmly in His hands, and He has a plan. Then, with the eternal perspective, you act upon what is real and true, rather than how you feel. It is an amazing experience when the Lord gives you the truth and power of the eternal perspective in your own life.
