Psalm 5:2-3

Hear my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray. In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.
Psalm 5:2-3 NIV
The psalms are filled prayers, and behind this fact is a very important presumption on the part of the psalmists; God cares for them and hears their prayers. This presumption is not a guess or even a hope on their part and is certainly not presumptuous in the negative sense. Rather, it is their exercise of faith in the facts of God as revealed in His Word. The psalmists cry out because they know He hears and will answer in His time and in His way. They have learned that sometimes a prayer requires patient waiting for the perfect timing of God. Their eyes are fixed on their God, and their hearts are steadfast as they anticipate and eagerly watch for what He will do. Have you learned this secret as it is demonstrated in the lives of the psalmists?
