The Value Of A Godly Mother

On this Mother’s Day, I am so very grateful for my precious and beloved mother, who is now dancing in heaven, face to face with her Lord.

She is no longer in a wheelchair with multiple sclerosis, but walking and running in the joy of her Master.

She is living proof that the best is yet to come.

My mother is a gift and I am thankful for how she loved me, believed in me, and taught me how to live.

Today I think about the wisdom from my mother. She taught me the most important things in life. And she especially taught me to love God and His Word.

One of the first gifts my mother gave me was Marion’s Big Book of Bible Stories. It was really my first Bible. And along with it, my mother taught me to read. Readers are leaders, according to my mother. I remember reading those Bible stories as absolute, applicable truth for my life. I lived in those stories and the pictures are still in my mind today.

Then, when I was old enough to appreciate its depth, mother gave me a white zippered KJV Bible. I read it day by day, underlining my favorite verses.

Mother and I talked about God together, prayed together, and grew in our relationship with Him together.

I was walking through a beautiful garden in Newport Beach CA recently with my Nikon D810 and Micro-Nikkor 200mm lens to capture closeup images of roses. I discovered this fully blooming rose with a companion rosebud and thought about the relationship I enjoyed with my mother. We were so very close and talked about all the important things in life.

The value of a mother who loves God is more than the greatest riches in the world. My mother gave me the best of everything when she told me about God, gave me His Word, and helped me learn how to grow with Him and walk with Him.

Proverbs 31:29 describes my mother so well — “Many daughters have done nobly, but you excel them all.”

Thank you, dear mother, and today I say to you, Happy Mother’s Day! I love and miss you so very much and I can’t wait to see you again! We shall have tea together, tell stories, and laugh and laugh until the tears roll down our cheeks.

Dear Lord, Thank You for the gift of a godly mother. And I thank You today for the hope that the best is yet to come. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

♥ Blessings and Grace to You!
