Isaiah 54:10

“For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, but My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, and My covenant of peace will not be shaken,” says the LORD who has compassion on you.
Isaiah 54:10
Life displays a profound paradox: the wicked seem to prosper and the godly seem to suffer. However, this psalmist has discovered a truth that the wicked can never know unless they turn from their wicked ways. There is something better than anything here on earth: better than riches, better than material things, better than success, better than fame, better than earthly relationships. This better thing is the great comfort to the pilgrim of the Lord, a comfort found in the courts of the Lord. Why? Because the Lord is there, and He is better than any other pursuit in life. He is the source of every good thing for the pilgrim. In Him is mercy, grace, and help in time of need. In fact, He is “the God of all comfort” (2 Corinthians 1:3).
