God’s Gentle Touch
Sometimes you need God’s gentle touch.
Things around us get so harried and pressured that we just need to stop and receive help from the Lord.
His tender and gentle touch changes everything — including us.
David, the man after God’s own heart, discovered this powerful quality about his God —
It is quite an amazing discovery to learn that God is gentle and humble. Out of His humility He reaches down and helps us in our great need. In David’s case, God helped him by making him “as surefooted as a deer” and causing him to stand on the heights (Psalm 18:32). He also made a wide path for his feet to keep him from slipping (Psalm 18:36).
I remember happening upon these mule deer on a wonderful His Light Friends Workshop photography adventure in Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah, USA. I waited with my Nikon D7000 and Nikkor 70-300mm lens focused and ready for those deer to come my way. When they discovered me, they were not afraid. And while I took hundreds of images, they curiously looked right into my camera lens. What stood out to me was a gentleness in their eyes and gesture. To me, it reflected the heart of my Lord, who daily pours out gentleness, tender mercy, and kindness on me.
What a comfort to know that God has His eye on us, goes before us, and tenderly helps us have feet to walk the path He makes for us on our unique journey in life.
Selwyn Hughes writes about the deer and how its feet enable it to climb —
So today, dear friend, stay close to God and experience His gentle touch in your life. He will help you. He promises.
God bless you as you continue on in the great adventure of knowing Him.
Dear Lord, thank You for Your gentleness that makes us great. Thank You for giving us the feet of deer and enabling us to stand on the heights with You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
♥ Blessings and Grace to You!
