The Lord has an invitation for you. He invites you even now.
Will you step away and go with Him to a quiet place, and rest a little while? A.W. Tozer, in his book, The Pursuit of God, speaks of experiencing an intimate and satisfying knowledge of God, entering into Him, delighting in His Presence, and tasting for yourself the “piercing sweetness” of the love of Christ about Whom all the holy prophets did write and the psalmists did sing. He goes on to say that “we pursue God because, and only because, He has first put an urge within us that spurs us to the pursuit.” He is drawing us to Himself. To come with Him by ourselves. To a quiet place. Tozer says, “In Him we shall find that for which we have all our lives been secretly longing.”
As I walked through the lush forest of Glacier National Park, I was alone. Totally alone with God. The mist was hanging low. I turned and saw these leaves growing on the ground leading to the tree. I had found my quiet place with the Lord. He ministered to my heart there. The quiet places with your Lord are moments that stay with you forever. So today, may you go with Him by yourself to a quiet place and rest a little while.
Here is a prayer for you from Tozer to help take you there:
So answer the Lord’s invitation, come away with Him by yourself, and rest a little while.
♥ Blessings and Grace to You!
