A voice without words. That’s what we experience when we see a sunrise because we are catching a glimpse of God’s glory.

David tells us:

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth.
Psalm 19:1-6

As I photographed this sunrise I was reminded of how the sun, when it rises, lights up the whole sky. This is the view to the west where later in the day, the sun will set. The light from the sun paints the whole sky and the earth with color. Even when you can’t see the sun because you’re looking in the other direction, you still witness its effects. Its voice speaks, even without words, according to Psalm 19. We can know, when we see it, that God is Creator and He is glorious, majestic, and holy. His glory fills the earth.

So too, the Son, as you draw near to Him, will light up all your life, and paint the landscape with all sorts of color. His glory will reflect in and through you, bringing joy to despair, light to darkness, comfort to discouragement, and strength to weakness.

Today, may you experience the glory of God in your own life. May you feel the healing warmth of His love and the strength of His power.

♥ Blessings and Grace to You!
