Pilgrimage OLS — Week One #2

We are on a journey as we engage on this pilgrimage of the heart. And what a journey it is! The landscape of our pilgrimage with the Lord is filled with lots of hills and valleys, but the view is breathtaking! In Week 1, Days 4-7 we discovered the many terrains we will encounter as we continued our study in Psalm 84. One place in particular was highlighted – the Valley of Baca, also known as the Valley of Weeping. Maybe you have walked through this valley at some point in your own life. Or maybe you are there now. Don’t be afraid, dear friend. The Lord is with you there. In fact, there is a special intimacy with the Lord when you are in the Valley of Weeping. God promises this in Psalm 34:18-19,

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. A righteous man may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all.
Psalm 34:18-19

Oh what a promise this is for any who are in the Valley of Weeping. And we see this firsthand in Psalm 84:6-7. The Valley of Weeping becomes a place of springs where you may be refreshed and gain strength. Tears are a special kind of healing that wash through a heart and soul giving you strength and helping you experience the joy and help of the Lord. I am experiencing those tears in the Valley of Weeping even now as I walk through this season where my father has gone home to be with the Lord. As I walk with the Lord on the landscape of my own pilgrimage of the heart with Him, I find that though the circumstance may not change, I am being transformed by my Lord. His constant presence calms the anxious storms that sweep across my life at times, helping me to look up from the circumstance into His face. I love this promise – we studied it this week and I give it to you to think on and find hope and joy:

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.
Psalm 46:4-5

Your assignment for this coming week is to continue on in Pilgrimage of the Heart Week 2, Days 1-3.

♥ God bless you as you continue this great adventure of knowing Him!

Luke 5:16 NASB — But Jesus Himself would often slip away to the wilderness and pray.
Amazing! Personal and touching! You will grow through this! Amazing because you will journey into new areas with the Lord that are going to help build your foundation in Him. This book is for anyone that wants to walk closer to God, no matter how close you already are. I would buy this for every woman I know if I could.
