Pilgrimage OLS — Week Two #1
Ever felt as though you’re under a lot of pressure and sometimes wonder how you will make it on your pilgrimage of the heart? Be encouraged dear friend. God will strengthen you and help you moment by moment no matter where you are or what you are experiencing in life. He promises:
Oh what a promise for you. He promises that His grace is sufficient. I believe His grace gives you promises of hope that carry you beyond the here and now all the way to eternity and the things that last forever. Paul tells us in Romans 15:4 that the encouragement of the Scriptures will give you hope.
This week we had the opportunity to look at many promises that are custom-designed by God to give you hope and help you look past the present circumstance to eternal, steadfast truths. We have a feast to look forward to (Matthew 8:11), paradise to enjoy (Luke 23:39-43), a new body (2 Corinthians 5:1-10), an inheritance that can never perish (1 Peter 1:4), a better country (Hebrews 11:6), and eternal life forever and ever with our Lord (Revelation 21:1-22:17). Live in these promises today and you will find your hope growing and holding you strong no matter what you face in life.
I was out early shooting the sunrise this last week and this glimpse of God’s majesty reminded me to always look beyond the here and now all the way to God’s gracious promises and have a heart to see forever. I am on this pilgrimage of the heart with my Lord and when I am in season of the valleys and weeping, the promises of eternity lift my sights.
Your assignment for this coming week is to continue on in Pilgrimage of the Heart Week 2, Days 4-7.
♥ God bless you as you continue this great adventure of knowing Him!
What is God teaching you? What promises meant the most to you in your study of God’s Word this week in your quiet time?
