Revive Your Heart — Klamath Falls OR
This past weekend I had the great privilege to speak at a once-in-a-lifetime, don’t-miss event — the very special and exciting Valley Wide Women’s Retreat titled Revive Your Heart and sponsored by the Oregon nonprofit organization, Valley Wide Women’s Ministry at Running Y Resort in Klamath Falls, Oregon from October 11-13, 2013. There were lots of green, lush trees, fall foliage, and majestic mountains with places to walk or just sit and drink in the beauty. Jesus invites us all to “come away with Me by yourselves to a quiet place to rest a little while” (Mark 6:31). It was truly a weekend of meeting with Jesus, hearing from Him, experiencing His presence, and talking with Him about everything that’s on your heart. God promises us that “times of refreshing come from the presence of the Lord” (Acts 3:19). Our weekend in beautiful Oregon became a venue for reviving your heart, soul, mind, and spirit.
I shared 4 messages from God’s Word to revive your heart and renew your soul. I also shared my passion for personal revival and many insights and ideas for your quiet time that I’ve used in my own quiet times with the Lord over the years. Many expressed their delight hearing about some of the great revivals in history and how they began with one person who knew the God of revival. I even presented an audio eyewitness account of a revival. All participants had the opportunity for time alone with the Lord. The great experience was that each participant was able to share the journey with hundreds of other women who long to draw near to God.
These very special three days organized by Table Rock Fellowship Women’s Ministry of Medford, Oregon. Jesus promises that “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, from his innermost being will flow rivers of living water” (John 7:37-38). Our thirst comes in many forms and is very deep and desperate at times. Jesus quenches that thirst through the Holy Spirit and makes His rivers of living water flow into every dry crevice of our heart and soul. His waters are refreshing, renewing, and restore us so we can continue to follow Him, as He carries out His plans and purposes in and through us. It’s called personal, spiritual revival. One of our greatest prayers, found numerous times in Psalm 119, is “revive me, O Lord.”
I remember when I began studying personal, spiritual revival in Psalm 119 many years ago. The psalmist expressed his deep thirst by calling himself “a wineskin in the smoke” (Psalm 119:83). Again and again, in Psalm 119, he speaks of the greatness of God’s Word, and writes the wonderful truth, “This is my comfort in my affliction, that Your word has revived me” (Psalm 119:50). I am driven to share God’s Word with others through Quiet Time Ministries because I know it is the great secret to experiencing personal, spiritual revival. We hope you approve and that you will support The Speaking Ministry Project! I was truly amazed at how many have studied God’s Word using the quiet time studies I’ve written. Tears came to my eyes as I caught just a glimpse of all that God is doing through Quiet Time Ministries.
Catherine, ever the avid photographer, took advantage of the drive from Medford, Oregon, up to the Running Y Resort in Klamath Falls, Oregon, to stop and shoot amazing some fall foliage pictures with her Nikon D7000. We hope to share many of these images at myPhotowalk.com Devotional Photography and here at Quiet Time Ministries in the future.
Great thanks to Sandy Harter and the wonderful team from Valley Wide Women’s Ministry, Oregon, for inviting me and putting on this terrific event.
♥ God bless you in the great adventure of knowing Him!
