Forever OLS — Week Six #1

When dark clouds appear in the sky, you know a storm is on its way. You see lightning and hear thunder as the storm rages. And when the wind blows through those clouds and light from the sun breaks through the darkness, the atmosphere is calm and serene once again.

In Part 1, The Battle for Eternity, Days 1-3 of A Heart To See Forever, we are studying Revelation 6. In this chapter, we are now going to see the seals come off of the book that holds “the rest of the story.” God does, indeed, have a plan and He will fulfill all His Word. But as we read about all these events before they occur, we need to step back, and take a long look at God’s ultimate plan and purpose. In Day 1 of Week 6 we have the opportunity to look at numerous verses that show us God’s great desire to be our God and for us to be His people. And we see how He ultimately brings about that purpose in Revelation 21:3 “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them.”

Friend, your relationship with God is of utmost importance to God. He wants you for Himself. Will you take time even today to draw near to Him? Think about those words in James 4:8, “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” What an amazing promise. God gives His Word to encourage you, give you hope, and bring you into a close, loving, vibrant relationship with Him.

Our being highly informed about the future will serve little good if it does not simultaneously result in a whole different orientation of our lives and our actions. Prophecy is not a sterile remote subject which has an interesting trivia list. It is a call to action based on the certainty of the future acts of God in space and time. It is a call to repentance based on the present drift of an evil society and a backsliding church. It is a call to faith and belief in the living God who is doing all things well after the counsel of his own wise and holy will.
Catherine Martin, The Battle for Eternity, A Heart To See Forever

As we continue on through Revelation, we will read “the rest of the story.” God gives us a long look into the future for a reason. He wants us – our love, our devotion, our hearts, our lives — all of us. So today, dear friend, will you lay out your heart and life before Him, and love and trust Him?

♥ God bless you as you continue this great adventure of knowing Him!

Sola Scriptura

When you finish Week 6, Days 1-3, think about all you have learned this week. How does knowing that God fulfills His Word, that He will rescue His bride, and that the Lord will have His day encourage you right now?

Luke 5:16 NASB — But Jesus Himself would often slip away to the wilderness and pray.
A Heart To See Forever has been an incredible study. … God has given me so much to ponder and the time to meander through His Word. … I find that Catherine’s studies are so thought-provoking and give me the opportunity to spend time with the Lord in ways that I have never done before. There are so many places within each day’s session where I can stop, ponder, pray, journal and return to or go on ahead. For the first time, I actually want to do a study over again.

A Heart to See Forever was my first real Bible study. Studying the revelation of the glorious new heaven and new earth motivated me to turn back to Genesis and begin an in depth study from there. With this perspective, I can see every book [of the Bible] through the lens of eternity.
