A Heart On Fire OLS — Week Three #2

How do you look at your life?

In other words, what is your life all about?

You may see life as a series of challenges and victories. Some look at life as simply accumulating possessions, acquiring power, or growing relationships with people. When you read the Bible, you discover God’s perspective on life. At the heart of everything is what I call the divine romance. And when you live your life cultivating your love relationship with God, you will discover that everything else has true meaning and purpose.

This week in A Heart On Fire, we studied Week Three, Days 1-3 and focused on God’s plan to rescue His people. We discovered that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) and that the penalty of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Only the death of Christ, the unblemished Lamb of God, could pay for our sin. And dear friend, He did for us what we could not do for ourselves. While we were enemies of God and powerless to save ourselves, at the right time, He died on the cross for our sins (Romans 5:6-10). His is an amazing love!

Here’s an encouragement wrapped up in God’s unconditional, grace-filled, lavish love. And that is, if He would accomplish such a rescue and salvation as this to reconcile us to God, just imagine how He will save us, day by day, in life’s trials and tribulations.

No wonder Jesus said,

These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.
John 16:33

God set this plan in motion before you were born, from the foundation of the world. And He has you in mind and your days are not haphazard as you may imagine sometimes, but are ordained with purpose (Psalm 139:16).

So today, take heart and be encouraged by God’s amazing love for you (John 3:16).

Your assignment this week is the Week 3, Days 4-7 in A Heart On Fire.

♥ God bless you as you continue this great adventure of knowing Him!

Sola Scriptura

In our discussion today, I would love for all of us to share the answers to these questions: How did you see God’s love for you in a new way this week as you studied His Word? What was your favorite part of your study this week?
