A Heart On Fire OLS — Week Four #1

If you could have anything you wanted, what would be your very first desire?

What do you long for more than anything?

Some men came to Philip, one of Jesus’ disciples, and kept making one request of him,

Sir we want to see Jesus.
John 12:21

Anne Graham Lotz describes an especially difficult year and concludes her sharing with these statements: “Even now, my duties and responsibilities at times seem overwhelming, and my schedule is overfilled. But I don’t want a vacation, I don’t want to quit, I don’t want sympathy, I don’t want money, I don’t want recognition, I don’t want to escape, I don’t even want a miracle … just give me Jesus. Please!”

Is that the cry of your heart? Do you want to see Jesus?

If the circumstances are looming too large on the landscape of your life, then sing those words written by Helen H. Lemmel:

O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s a light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free!

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

In Week 4, Day 1 of A Heart On Fire, we focused on our desire for Jesus. We are now going to be looking at who Jesus is, what He does and what He says. Over the next 2 weeks we will have the opportunity to study in Days 1-7 of Week 4. So I encourage you to take your time in the verses and devotional reading. Then, draw near to the Lord Jesus and talk with Him about all that is on your heart.

During Christmas celebrations always remember that Jesus truly is the reason for the season.

♥ God bless you as you continue this great adventure of knowing Him!
