Walking Into The Sunset

I just love sunsets.

In fact, I make a point of going outside almost every evening and looking at the sky to see if there are clouds. Clouds are a sure sign of a beautiful sky at sunset. And I love to capture those sunsets with my camera. They’re glimpses of God’s glory. I think of certain movies I’ve seen over the years, especially some of those great westerns. And almost always, at the end of the movie, the hero walks off into the sunset, the credits roll, and the music plays.

For those who know the Lord, when the sun sets for our time on this earth, our life is not ending, but beginning. In fact, when we step from the temporal world into eternity, we will experience real life – eternal life. There will be no more sunsets as we know them now, for there is no need of the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God is the One who gives the light (Revelation 22:5). I think the light of the Lord will be better than the best sunset we’ve ever seen.

When you have a relationship with the Lord, this life is like walking into the sunset, and experiencing a new and amazingly beautiful sunrise.

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea … the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death, or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.
Revelation 21:1-4

Oh friends, there’s no end of the story for those who know the Lord, and the very best is yet to come.

♥ Blessings and Grace to You!
