Stay In The Word

How has your time in God’s Word been lately?

I like to ask myself that question from time to time.

Here’s why. There are going to be days when you’re so busy, you’re tempted to skip your quiet time. There will be times when you are so sad, you may not even feel like opening the Bible. You need a big dose of hope, but can’t see how you will get it. Every day, every moment, you need the bright promise and encouragement from Scripture.

Here’s my encouragement. It’s simple. But absolutely true and life-changing. Stay in the Word. Just stay there, dear friend. When you’re tempted to skip it, thinking you’ll come back later, by faith, grab your Bible, and open the pages of the Word. Just when you think nothing can help, you will discover a fresh touch from God in His Word.

For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
Romans 15:4

The Word of God is living and active (Hebrews 4:12), and the Holy Spirit uses it to comfort and encourage you. You can’t afford to miss a day without it. So, if you find yourself needing some encouragement, let me ask again, have you opened your Bible lately? If not, grab it, and spend some time alone with the Lord.

As I always say, “A Bible in the hand is worth two in the bookcase.”

♥ God bless you in the great adventure of knowing Him!

I like your instruction to stay in the Word. Just stay there! May His Word breathe life into His own.

Journaling pours out your soul to the Lord. When you journal, you become receptive to the voice of God. … Pouring out your soul to the Lord means to lift up every desire, need, joy, sorrow, and thought that is on your heart and in your mind to your Father who loves you more than you can imagine. It is done in the presence of God, directed to God, and intended for the glory of God.
