Something Inspired

Over the years with Quiet Time Ministries, I’ve had the blessed opportunity to travel and meet women in ministries everywhere.

And I’ve loved serving the Lord as a Director of Women’s Ministries for more than ten years. And in the last ten years I’ve been thinking, “What would happen if somehow women who love the Lord from ministries and churches throughout the world came together in one place?” Can you imagine the collective encouragement, growth, and move of the Spirit of God as thousands and thousands of women join together in one place to follow Christ, love God and His Word, and grow in the power of the Holy Spirit?

I sense that God is stirring in a powerful way in the hearts of women everywhere. I see it. I sense it. And I’m excited about it. I just know God is on the move!

And so, with the idea of women who love the Lord joining together all in one place, immediately one might think, “Well, how in the world could that happen.” Twenty years ago, such a thought could have only been a pipedream. Yes, maybe you could put together a one-time conference where a bunch of us women who love the Lord could come together. But how could we stay together and grow together and connect in the Lord over a longer period of time? Now it’s possible because we have computers and the internet. I’m an admitted “techie” who loves the resources of the computer and the internet, and the countless opportunities such technological advances afford those of us in ministry. I’ve studied ways to use the internet for years. And over the last few years, the Lord has seemed to bring this amazing idea together in my own mind. That’s how it’s always been with me – whether it’s a book, a ministry, or a message I’m writing – I get the idea and if it doesn’t go away, I linger long with it, brainstorm it, and, as it grows, develop it as the Lord leads.

I’m a big dreamer – I learned this first from Bill and Vonette Bright, co-founders of Campus Crusade For Christ International. They are two of my heroes and I had the privilege to serve with them together many years ago when I was on the staff of Campus Crusade with Josh and Dottie McDowell. Josh and Dottie are the other two big influences in my life.

I learned working with Josh and Dottie to dream big because anything less is just too small for our great God.

That was what Henrietta Mears taught Dr. and Mrs. Bright so many years ago when Campus Crusade was just an idea.

And so, the dream of Ministry For Women began, and grew, and developed. A community with purpose – His purpose – not just social, but spiritual, bringing glory to God.

Ministry For Women is now a reality, a web community of Christian women, a place where we can minister in the name of Christ, get to know each other, grow together, and encourage one another to love God and His Word and glorify Him. And I believe God is going to grow it into something way more than my original thought and dream of it. And I’m ready. “Let’s go Lord. You lead. We’ll follow.”

So, I invite you to join together with me from wherever the Lord has placed you in life – whether you are a Director of Women’s Ministries, attending a church with a small women’s ministries, alone or part of a small or large group of women, an author, a blog writer, a worship leader, a leader of a moms group, a radio host or producer, a founder of a nonprofit ministry, or part of a ministry staff, and I could go on and on – no matter who you are or where you live – I want to personally invite you to join women from everywhere in community here to encourage and be encouraged to follow Christ, love God and His Word, and grow together in the power of the Holy Spirit. Let’s see what God might do and what He has in mind for us. I can’t wait for all of us to sit together at His feet. I’m excited to connect with others who are serious about following Christ and living for Him. I believe this is a unique place where women from everywhere can find a challenge to go deeper with the Lord that they may not otherwise have. And I’m believing God for something more than I can even imagine – I’m believing Him for revival. I long to see a move of God’s Spirit among us that only He can do. Why not? Let’s believe together. Get ready my friend. It’s a great adventure – the awesomely amazing adventure of knowing God!

Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

I have dreamed of a Ministry For Women web community for many years. When I was first introduced to the internet, I was just blown away. I realized that God was at work on the internet, and I wanted to be a part of it. So I designed my first website for Quiet Time Ministries using Corel Draw. I had the time of my life doing it, and in the process, realized that I had a certain knack and love for software, computers, and technology. I began studying the internet, websites, technology, and the social web in earnest. The newest web version on Google+ — Ministry For Women — Google+ Community — is the result of those years, the dream God put in my heart for a community of women from all over the world, and the guidance and strength of the Lord.

I look at Ministry For Women as the grand experiment. I have always felt that ministry is an experiment from our perspective. As we launch out and believe God and carry out the ideas we have, He molds and shapes those ideas into ministry. He gives varieties of gifts, varieties of ministries, and varieties of effects. May the Lord be glorified in all we do here. It will be exciting to see what He does among us. I’m praying Ephesians 3:20 for a mighty move of God’s Spirit.
