Morning

Morning.

Have you discovered the beauty of it? Have you experienced the stillness and solitude of early mornings and quiet time alone with God?

I have always been a morning person. I awaken while it’s still dark. I love getting up early, grabbing a steaming cup of coffee, drawing near to God, talking with Him, and reading His Word. I would venture to say that most of the ideas for books I’ve written have come to me from the Lord in my early morning quiet time.

Jesus enjoyed the early mornings —

… very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
Mark 1:35

Walking and talking with God seems easier very early in the morning than during the busy responsibilities of the day.

I love sitting with the Lord early while it is still dark. And then, I am able to see the sun begin to light up the sky. One morning, I noticed that there were clouds everywhere as the sun was rising. I knew it was going to light up with all kinds of colors. And oh, how the Lord painted the sky that morning. I was able to capture with my camera just a glimpse, only a glimpse, of the beauty of His artistry in the sunrise that day.

And that’s how it is in the early morning spending time with the Lord. Just when you least expect it, He will speak to you in a verse, and show you something about Himself that is awesome and magnificent. And you will worship.

So today, dear friend, make a plan to discover the opportunity of the morning, and enjoy the stillness and solitude alone with your Lord.

♥ Blessings and Grace to You!
